2012 Recap: Personal Style
Well, that was a year.
Not "a year"...a year. I mean, lots happened.
Style-wise I went from city girl to suburban mama, and my look chilled out accordingly (but still managed not to change all that much, because I've been a creature of slouchy habit since approximately 1981).
I used to occasionally wear skirts and dresses and, you know...clothing that people wear in public; now I reach for jeans and sweaters that could arguably double as pajamas. Or might actually be pajamas. You never know.
Undercover
Two of my favorite things in one place!
Navy Day
I've already written about what I'd wear to a formal holiday event...
And what I wore to Kendrick's office party...
And offered up my suggestions for holiday style must-haves...
Taste The Rainbow
Speaking of sweaters, can I just say? One of the hands-down best parts of home ownership (or, so I hear, of living anywhere outside Manhattan) is the presence of an actual washer and dryer in your house.
What I Wore: Bowling Night
Last night was Kendrick's office party. Holiday party, to me, means a little sparkle...but when it's at a bowling alley it also means, you know: no cocktail dresses. What I ended up in:
Just A Little Bit Grey Gardens
When one doesn't really go out all that much, and then suddenly one does get to go out - like on, say, a date night with one's husband where canoodling (!) may occur - it's fun to...you know...dress-up.
And when I dress up, I always like to go just a little bit overboard. LBD and subtly elegant extras? I don't think so. Not now. Not today.
Why? Because it's fun to wear animal print...and glamorous, poofy faux-fur boleros...and chiffon bows...and gold sparkle...all at the same time.
Just fun. That's all.
Letters From New York (And Win A Trip To NYC)
I've lived in a bunch of different spots in NYC over the years...but really, my NYC story starts and ends in Hell's Kitchen.
