I spent the afternoon getting holiday makeup tips from Taymour over at Paul Labrecque (more on that to come), and the purples and golds that he layered onto my lids inspired my wine-hued outfit for the evening’s events (the Toys for Dogs Humane Society Benefit followed by a holiday party at 44 1/2).
Here, I’m wearing a kimono-sleeve sweaterdress that I bought last year in Daffy’s for next-to-nothing (you can see it in this video), a Tory Burch neon-studded wrap bracelet*, my trusty Junos, and an Ellington Star Clutch*. Virgil is wearing an expression of irritation because I am taking a photo rather than throwing his toy.

Riller & Fount Fiona Kimono-Sleeve Minidress ($150); Etsy Silk Wrap Bracelet ($28); Charlotte Russe Purple Tights ($7.50); Jeffrey Campbell Litas in Purple Suede ($159.95); Ellington Star Clutch ($129); Tuleste Market Rose Bracelet ($25 on sale).
Lucy got all dressed up in her elfin finery for the Toys for Dogs benefit. To donate to the Humane Society, click here! (And click here if you’d like a similarly festive outfit for your own baby).
After Toys for Dogs, I headed uptown to drop off Lucy at Mom & Dad’s so I could stop by 44 1/2 (right across the street) for their holiday party. (Pictured above, the very handsome owners – and my good friends – Bruce and Scott.) If you’ve never been to their restaurants, they are absolute musts: 44 1/2 is a bit more casual (I love it for brunch), and 44 & X is perfect for a date, or if you have out-of-town relatives whom you’d like to entertain in style.
Cuddle with the adorable 44 1/2 waiters? Sigh…ok. (P.S. They sell those shirts, among others, in the restaurant; the other side says “Baked”).
Here we are heading home at evening’s end: happy, exhausted, and ready to shed our respective holiday outfits.
