Ice Skating Beauty Tips

Click over to Makeup.com for more ideas for how to pretty up for your day on the ice.

(In the upper-left corner is another shot from my ice-skating semi-glory days - my mom made my costumes, and the black-and-white one you see there was my all-time favorite. 2012 Recap: Personal Style

Well, that was a year.

Not "a year"...a year. I mean, lots happened.

Style-wise I went from city girl to suburban mama, and my look chilled out accordingly (but still managed not to change all that much, because I've been a creature of slouchy habit since approximately 1981).

I used to occasionally wear skirts and dresses and, you know...clothing that people wear in public; now I reach for jeans and sweaters that could arguably double as pajamas. Or might actually be pajamas. You never know.

New Year’s Eve Inspiration: Silver & Gold

For your New Year's celebration consideration, some easy ways to add a little sparkle to your look. Pick just one or two pieces for a hint of glitter...or do what I'd probably do were I going out (I'm not), and pile 'em all on at the same time.

P.S. That Make Up For Ever Star Powder is a must-own: it's a very fine, glittery dust for your eyelids that looks gorgeous either on its own, or layered under smoky shadows.

Product info after the jump.
