Fair Ivy Surprise Package Subscriptions
Such a sweet idea.
Fair Ivy, a Santa Monica-based company founded by RG reader Lucy, specializes in "Surprise Packages": you just let the company know who you're buying for (woman, man, teen, or pet), and a box arrives for them in the mail every month filled with unique (and often handmade) gifts. The eco-friendly service costs $20/month for a subscription (which can be as short or as long as you like; single packages are also available); read some FAQs about it here.
(Above, that's a pet surprise package, with an organic dog toy and fortune cookie treats. Virgil and Lucy are happy kids today.)

Stackable Hand-Beaded Bracelets For A Great Cause
Thanks so much to Molly for giving me the heads-up about GTLI, which works "to help indigenous people acquire the resources and skills to ensure their long term survival while maintaining their traditional cultural values."
If you'd like to support the cause (learn more about GTLI here), there are tons and tons of beautiful hand-beaded bracelets (perfect for stacking!) for sale. They're just $10-$12, and 100% of the purchase price goes to the women of the Hamar tribe (in Ethiopia) to help them provide food for their families.
