Remember the Avon products I mentioned yesterday? There were a couple that I was especially into, so I wanted to give them a shout-out in their own post. And so I brought them with me to Berkeley and photographed them during our lunch at a sushi restaurant, like a totally sane person. (Honestly, our server barely batted an eye. Simultaneous toro consumption and product photography is apparently the New Normal.)

My interview on the Avon blog, Beauty for a Purpose, is here.

Avon’s recent perfume release, Prima – a blend of plum, rose and oakmoss – is softer and sweeter, and reminds me almost precisely of a perfume I bought during a trip to France in the mid-‘90s; I can’t recall the name, but it was sort of like if you bottled the word “pretty.” I tend to gravitate towards less feminine perfumes, but this one was refreshingly delicate…and for what it’s worth, Kendrick adored it.

Me, looking ever-so-slightly vacant (but with excellent eyelashes)

One more product I tried and wanted to call out: Avon True Color Wide Awake Mascara. I’ve stopped getting eyelash extensions to give my lashes a break for a minute, and have found the mascara lovely and non-clumpy (which is no easy feat, considering that I still have a couple of lash extensions holding on for dear life and pretty much every mascara I’ve tried tends to clump up around them). When I saw how much it costs – just eight dollars – I was honestly floored. Serious value.
