West Village | NYC
Jumpsuit (FYI: if you buy it, go down a size) | Purse (on sale) | Sneakers
Oh heyyy there!
You may notice that things look different around here as of today: it felt like time for a little site refresh, so I worked with my development company, Chloe Digital, to create a super-clean, streamlined experience. I hope you like it as much as I do, and would love to hear your thoughts, as always! (And don’t forget to use that subscription box over there on the right to sign up for the RG newsletter – it’s a project that I’ve been dancing around moving forward with foreverrrr, but I’m thisclose to launching it, and it’s going to be really fun, promise.)
I’m in New York City at the moment for a couple of projects – mostly book-related stuff; Erin and I are starting to lay out the manuscript, and this process is greatly facilitated by being physically located in the same room. (This also means that we have an excuse to hang out, which is obviously great and will probably lead to some cool glam | camp developments, as well.) Yesterday we ran down to the West Village for lunch with our editor at Penguin Random House (which, as an aside, is actually the most fun sentence in the world to say: “Ohhh I’d love to, darling, but I simply must run out for lunch with my editorrrrr, tra la la”). And then instead of running right back home, we thought we’d celebrate the fact that we just finished writing a book by wandering in no particularly specific direction and accidentally shopping.
And on the topic of that shopping: I have no idea why I’ve never been in Reformation before, but I’m now a massive fangirl. Their stuff is simultaneously feminine and clean, modern and classic, striking and simple – and surprisingly well-priced for how gorgeous it is (not that it’s “inexpensive” by any means, but when I first stepped into the store I expected the price tags to be about double what they were). I wanted to buy everything I saw, but finally settled on this two-piece floral jumpsuit – it’s sort of a summerier version of that white silk suit I wore in the photographs I put up last time I did a site redesign, which is kind of fun and full circle-y. It’s also exactly what I want to wear all spring and summer long. (Except for maybe yesterday, when we took these photos, because it was freezing and not especially appropriate weather for wearing the equivalent of a flowery napkin – but a little numbness never killed anyone. …Right? Right.)
