This weekend was so fun.
But fun in mostly unphotogenic ways. For example, how many pictures of us watching back-to-back episodes of Breaking Bad and freaking out over Bryan Cranston do you really want to see?
One, maybe.
There you go.
(Incidentally, we are so obsessed with Bryan Cranston that we are now saying things like, “Hey, doesn’t that dog look like Bryan Cranston?” in the course of ordinary conversation. In our defense, that dog was a Brussels Griffon. And Brussels Griffons really do look like Bryan Cranston.)
See?
This was the first time that we’ve brought the dogs to off-leash hours at Central Park since I was pregnant. I’ve been a little nervous about walking all that way with a baby carriage and two dogs, especially in the cold early-morning weather, but we happen to own this very cute alarm clock that wakes us up every day at 6:45AM on the dot, so we figured hey, we’re both up, and there is very little to do at this ridiculously early hour other than do things like walk Lucy and Virgil and drink coffee…so…
Starbucks and Central Park it was.
Seriously? I love this dog. And just so you know, I had nothing to do with what’s happening in this photograph. When Lucy is over it, she is over it.
(Also, she loves bags. If you’ve never read this story, please read it now.)
In other news, I spent the weekend working my way through a very large box of Insomnia Cookies (these were the cookies purchased for the trip-to-the-hospital-that-didn’t-happen). If you’ve never had Insomnia Cookies, you should: they are really good. Go for the double-chocolate; I’m not ordinarily into chocolate-on-chocolate action (too sweet), but these are perfect.
More cookie stuff: the Girl Scout Cookies from Kendrick’s niece arrived, including a box of something called “Savannah Smiles”, the new flavor for 2012. They’re powdery lemon cookies, are sort of ugly but taste better than they sound, and would go nicely with a cup of tea. Grade: B. Get Samoas instead.
Completely random piece of info for you: the best place in the world to buy dog shampoo, traditionally a ridiculously overpriced product considering the vast quantities that you have to use to keep your dogs (or at least mine) smelling non-horrible, is TJ Maxx. I make special trips every few months just to pick up a couple of super-sized tubs of the tea tree oil-scented stuff pictured above.
And that was (mostly) our weekend. How was yours??!
