Snowed in = a weekend full of snuggling and Sesame Street.
And baking.
Our friends Tia and Ben came up for lunch on Saturday, and I used their visit as a fantastic excuse to a) get dressed, and b) whip up some Pear & Cream Cheese Turnovers.
And Glazed Lemon Bread.
And a seriously spectacular salad that we’ll talk about in a mo’.
On Saturday night, we finally watched Celeste and Jesse Forever, the movie that I shot a very small part in the summer before last. Have to say: what a good movie.
Here’s the scene I was in (taped off of my TV), if you’re interested. (Be prepared to be stunned by the remarkable acting skills on display: the sum total of my part involves smiling like a doof for approximately thirty seconds. Still: what a fun experience, and such an honor to work with Lee Toland Krieger – who also directed The Vicious Kind – again. Also, I’m pretty excited to one day show our son his first on-screen appearance, hidden from sight and draped in layers of grey organza though he may have been.)
On Sunday, we decided to finally emerge from our Snow Castle and make our way to Nyack for brunch and thrift store shopping.
Hats were worn.
Plaid was purchased.
And planters were secured in preparation for the first signs of Spring.
