Union Square Greenmarket / Beautiful x 3

Yesterday I had a lunch meeting at Republic (mmm), and decided to arrive in Union Square a little early so as to take advantage of the Greenmarket before it closes for the season. Purchases included radishes, corn, parsley, and leeks (I made potato leek soup for dinner, and will be putting up the recipe ASAP).

I also salivated over a painting (above left; about $60) by Alex Margini (which reminds me of my favorite piece of art in our apartment, Larry Carlson’s Morning Star Tree), fell in love with Red Jacket Orchards‘ Strawberry-Apple Juice (above center; you can buy it online), and couldn’t help but pick up a bunch of some of the most stunning hot-pink cockscomb I’ve ever seen (above right).

Also: I decided to venture out into the day wearing this sort of bizarre ensemble (Gap sweater, True Religion cutoffs, Miezke boots, Ralph Lauren – I think – leg warmers, vintage bracelets). Kendrick thought I’d lost my mind a bit; I loved it.
