Last night I co-hosted and co-styled the launch of UGG’s Fall 2012 Collection, and it was fun. Sorry: fun! With an exclamation point.
I even had one of those classic little I-am-so-lucky-to-live-in-the-best-city-in-the-world (at least for a little bit longer) moments while standing on the roof deck with two of my closest friends, drinking a Sam Adams Summer Ale and watching the sunset. Alec Baldwin was standing about three feet to my right, which helped, too.
Above center is the look I styled, flanked by looks from Brooklyn Blonde and My Style Pill: you can’t see the floral bralet top under the denim jacket from this angle, but I based it on this outfit (we added a denim jacket because, you know: fall).
I know lots of people still view UGG as the company behind your favorite wear-to-brunch-with-sweatpants boots (and yes, they still make those, of course; you will pry my well-worn-in pair from my cold, dead fingers)…but in recent years they’ve taken a much more fashion-forward approach, and the fall line is something special. We’re talking thick wooden heels, rich colored leather, studs…and a touch of cozy shearling tucked into the toe.
Here’s my NYC Style Story.
And here’s me with The Drums, who played at the event.
Please look at how cool these guys are…and then take a gander at my doppy smile. This picture is a pretty handy visual aid for the long-winded explanation of why I never felt quite comfortable at my husband’s shows back in the day.
A shot I cribbed from Jaimen (pictured above with me ‘n’ Sara).
And look: my lovely friend Andrea (from BrunchCritic) came out to say hi!
Must own these come fall. Wish-listed.
Thanks so much to UGG for a spectacular night!
