You know the little “gift-with-purchase” sample bags that sometimes get when you spend X amount of money at department stores? The Tili (“Try It; Love It”) box is sort of like those…except better in virtually ever way. I did not expect this to be as good as it is – and certainly not for $22 (plus $3 shipping, but still: !!!). The only explanation for the price of the Tili box is that QVC is so confident that new customers are going to love the products that they’re willing to offer a confusingly great bargain as an introduction.

First, let me explain what the Tili Box is: essentially, it’s a way of introducing new customers to the various QVC brands (which include some of my personal favorite brands, such as Julep, Bare Minerals, Nudestix, and philosophy). The box contains eight products (three of which are full-sized, although even the non-full-sized samples in my box were surprisingly large), and only 5,000 are created each quarter. What the Tili box isn’t: a subscription service – but a new, curated box is available each quarter.
Above are the items that arrived in my Tili box (plus Wen Cleansing Conditioner, which for some reason I could not get to show up in that widget).
The products I was most excited about: the Julep gel/pencil eyeliner, which glides on like kohl and can be used as a smudging liner or to create a sharp winged line; the Nudestix lip and cheek tint, which I’m wearing in these photos (along with the Julep eyeliner), and the philosophy Purity face wash, a super-gentle cleanser that was recommended by a several readers when I wrote about my breakout drama a few weeks ago.
(I was also excited to try balancing the box on my head. I was not very good at this, as you can see.)
