At last night’s EcoMed Project fundraiser, hosted by my good friend Vanessa (in yellow) at the Hotel Chantelle.
Their mission:
To encourage preventative health education programs and promote sustainable medical care in harmony with the surrounding environment and culture of underserved populations.
So far, the project has sent three groups of pre-med and medical student volunteers to Zambia, where they’ve shadowed surgeons, helped to deliver babies, and delivered medications to surrounding villages. It’s an incredible organization; I’ve heard first-hand from Vanessa about the difference that the EcoMed Project has been able to make in the communities they visit, and I strongly encourage you to support it in whatever way you can.
