You know, the joke (in the movies, anyway) is that couples who leave their babies at home for the first time are total basket cases, calling home every three seconds and skipping the after-dinner movie because they just can't wait to get back to the baby.

Weekend Snapshots
Saturday morning started with Aunt Morgan (who's expecting her own little one in just a couple of months) and an alternately protective and skeptical Lucy.
Weekend Snapshots…Featuring An Experiment That Did Not Work
So today is my due date.
…And A Few More Weekend Snapshots
On Friday evening, Francesca and I ventured towards Lincoln Center to catch up over coffee at the Empire Hotel and to check out the goings-on at the tents. (That's my favorite outfit these days - an oversized, cozy flannel from Bolton's, of all places + stretchy black jeans.)
Weekend Snapshots: Hurricane Edition
I mean, sure, we were all in hunker-down-for-hurricane mode, and ended up going a bit stir-crazy as a result (said hurricane apparently passed over while we were dead asleep on Sunday morning; I think a tree limb batted against our window once or twice, making it more Adorable Kitten than Raging Tiger, as hurricanes go).

And everyone was just so...nice. I grew up in New York City, and let me tell you: big smiles and "Congratulations!" from total strangers everywhere you go is not the norm. It's lovely.
Dog Training! Sort Of.
...And this is how we spent the bulk of Sunday afternoon.
Smorgasburg & Frozen Bananas
I can't believe it's taken me this long to get to Smorgasburg (the foodie portion of the Brooklyn Flea, open Saturdays from 9AM-5PM). What can I say? It's been a lazy summer. And one filled with worries about long Port-a-potty lines.
