Q. Hi Jordan! I'm a longtime reader of your blog. I moved to the Upper East Side in November, and since you live in this area as well I was wondering - what are your recommendations for great, reasonably priced sushi up here?
I spent the afternoon getting holiday makeup tips from Taymour over at Paul Labrecque (more on that to come), and the purples and golds that he layered onto my lids inspired my wine-hued outfit for the evening's events (the Toys for Dogs Humane Society Benefit followed by a holiday party at 44 1/2).
Friday night kicked off with a little celebrating at Koi, in the Bryant Park Hotel (I just got word that I booked a really fun hosting gig next month - yay!).
Yesterday I had a very glamorous breakfast.
The original plan this weekend was to throw a party, but it turned into a comfort-and-Christmas-tree extravaganza instead.
Yesterday morning, we headed over to Kendrick's uncle's place for a few hours. Lucy (pictured above with three of Kendrick's cousins) was 100% the hit of the party.
On Saturday morning (well, a bit more on the side of noon), Kendrick told me to get dressed to go out for the day, but refused to tell me where we were headed. Three trains later, we were wandering around the Village on a perfect autumn afternoon.
On Wednesday afternoon I swung by the rustic, adorable Spot Dessert Bar (on St. Mark's Place) to film a segment with celebrity chef Pichet Ong (of P*ONG and The Bubble Lounge) in which he taught me how to make a Yuletide Log.
We started the day hanging out in the kitchen sunbeams with the kids and some coffee.
Our weekend was long, rambly and wonderful...
