MAN are tweens hard to shop for.
"So what do you want?"
"Whatever."

OK, so this is basically just stuff I covet. But if you generally enjoy my recommendations, they'll likely be up your alley, too.
I get a little stressed out about what to do for my kids' teachers around the holidays. I want to make sure that they all feel appreciated…but I also very much don’t want to offend anyone (by, say, skipping someone I really should have given a gift to, or giving something that I think is thoughtful but that isn’t especially welcome).
So I went straight to the source, and asked a former elementary school teacher, Olivia (now the founder of Fresh Starts Registry) to tell me the honest truth about teachers and holiday gift-giving.
P.S. It goes without saying that the number one gift pick for teacher people, IMO, is this.
Okay, maybe these gifts aren't for besties *quite* as short as the one pictured above, but you get the point. These are mid-range priced gifts that, IMO, any one of the incredible ladies in my and your life (myself included) would absolutely adore.
P.S. If you're wondering what those amazing gloves my daughter is wearing in that pic are, they're Freezy Freakies, and IYKYK (East Coasters from the '80s, heyyyyy!).
This Mother's Day, you know what I want? Something that has absolutely nothing to do with my children or my status as a parent. In other words: if there is an item that explicitly expresses the belief that I am the best mother in the world, I do not need to own it. What I need is confirmation of this fact via jewelry and/or the elimination of muscle tension.
In case you're looking for some inspiration, or just need a handy link to forward to the person in your own life who definitely should be reminded that Mother's Day is SUNDAY, MAY 13, and that you are perfect and spectacular and eminently deserving of presents and mimosas in bed (write it down, set an alarm, make it happen)...
Here you go.
Trying out a fun new tool for this segment where you can click right on the video to go to the products that interest you - let me know what you think??
Also: goodness I am excited about these stocking stuffers (which, incidentally, are not just for the ladies; there's some great guy stuff in there too). One of them is even inspired by my new ink, and another is inspired by the fact that my feet are tragic.
Obviously the most fun list to put together, this list is a whole bunch of things that I feel confident my children would obsess over…plus a few items that the moms on your list will most certainly be into (gold Wookie slippers and '70s-print headwraps, anyone?).
1. What. Are these. (Things that I can't believe I don't already own, that's what they are.)
2. Every cool little girl needs a cool leather jacket (and this one is red, making it even cooler).
Presenting: a gift guide consisting mostly of stuff I just really like. We've got gifts on here for your best friend, for your mom, for your sister, and for your co-workers...plus a few things that you may want to send gentle hints about to your significant other (or just go ahead and pick up for yourself; it's the holidays, and a little indulgence is totally acceptable).
1. Black leather gloves are always a good gift. When you add fringe, they are GREAT.
2. The sweetest bracelet-for-two ever (and totally acceptable for grownup BFFs).
Are you contemplating getting the man in your life a shaving kit this Christmas? Perhaps a stylish scarf? Then whoa, are you reading the wrong list. Because you know what this list is about?
TOYS. (For grown-up - or, possibly more accurately, "grown-up" - boys.)
“But he probably hasn’t played with toys in decades. Isn't that a total waste of money? Also: how do I know what to get him?”
Did you completely forget about Mother's Day? That's OK; you still have 24 hours, and 24 hours is more than enough time to make Mom something that if she does not love, she might very well not be a human being: chocolate-dipped fruit with fancy salt. (Click here for instructions.)
Another easy DIY: pick up some mason jars and a few herbs, and make her a gorgeous windowsill garden (either hanging or not) of her very own. (Click here for instructions.)
