I’ve loved making my own jewelry ever since I was a little girl (during the summers between ages 8 and 10, I set up a kiosk in our apartment building making custom friendship bracelets for my unsuspecting – and very kind – neighbors), so I was beyond excited to be asked by DIY superstore Michaels to design a piece of my very own to help celebrate their Jewelry Month.
One of my favorite looks for jewelry is a blend between tough and pretty, so I decided to create a bracelet that mixed together rugged black leather and delicate gold link. The things I like most about this bracelet: it’s incredibly simple to make, looks great stacked with the bangles you already own, and you can easily switch up the colors of the leather (or even make a multicolored version) to mix up the look for different outfits and seasons.
