(YOU GUYS. I JUST joined Snapchat like four weeks ago - @ramshackleglam, if you'd like to see Kendrick choking on peppers and me wrapping my feet in delayed-action acid - and I am already one of the Olds who does not understand what the spring chickens are up to these days.)
OK, so I love Snapchat. I didn't participate in it for a long enough time that it got weird, given what I do for a living, and then I started doing it, and discovered that it is my absolute favorite outlet precisely because I can just be 100% myself and have fun on it. And then, like two days later, I found out that Instagram was trying to co-opt Snapchat by giving users their own way to post embarrassing/terrible/inexcusable videos that would disappear within twenty-four hours (unless someone takes a screenshot, but that's a different story).
It's 7AM on Mother's Day, and I'm writing this from a Southwest flight somewhere over...Colorado, I think. I was originally scheduled to fly home from St. Louis this afternoon, but yesterday morning I was on set and called my kids to FaceTime with them, and that one call ended up changing my plans. I hadn't seen their faces in a couple of days because I couldn't get my FaceTime to work (discovery: restarting one's phone more than once a year is apparently a good idea) - and when they finally popped up on my phone screen my heart started pounding and I started feeling like I might cry (which is not a thing I want to do on a set, ever). When we hung up, I went straight to my computer and started hunting for a flight - any flight - that might get me home even an hour or two earlier.
Mommy-and-me swimsuits that broke me (I am so sorry), my thoughts on that ludicrous Me-ternity kerfuffle, and the ugliest piece of clothing I've seen in a long time. (And more, obviously.)

Let me put it at ease: the decision to eliminate gluten is not because I want to, exactly, and is also not permanent (unless, by some crazy twist of fate, I actually see some positive effects from this experiment) - it's because our doctor suggested that my husband do it, and I figure life will be easier for both of us if I do it, too, since I'm the one who does the majority of the cooking. (The kids get a pass, because they're kids and they get to eat pizza. And not, like, gluten-free "pizza"; like pizza. With bread in it.)

A long time ago, I wrote a post about my asymmetrical eyes. And apparently - thanks to the miasma of oddity that is SEO - I am now the Official Internet Authority on this topic. That post comes up on the first page of a Google search for "asymmetrical eyes" (I checked this because I was confused as to why a post I wrote in 2011 has continued to be one of my most-read posts every single day since). I get emails almost weekly from women looking for advice on how to minimize the appearance of their own asymmetry.
So apparently there's some level of interest in the topic. It certainly continues to interest me, because despite the fact that (cheesy as it sounds) I really do believe that our "flaws" are what make us unique and beautiful...my eyes make me insecure. I notice them in every photo. They bother me. This a big part of the reason why I tend to wear sunglasses in style shoots; it's just so I don't have to worry about how my damn eyes look.
