Over the past few years, I’ve tested out (and recommended) a lot of stuff. And some of that stuff has stood the test of time (and taste) better than others.
But what’s more interesting to me is what you’ve liked the most. Below are some of my all-time favorite finds, and (based on an analysis of which pages are most frequently clicked over to after leaving RG) some of yours.
1. The post where I first wrote about this custom signature necklace is one of RG’s all-time most trafficked pages. I don’t own this, but I love the idea. Someday.
2. Possibly the best black jeans ever. Mid-rise, cropped to the ankle, just a little distressed. Yes and yes and yes.
3. I wear this super-lightweight striped Splendid top in more posts than I probably should, but that’s because it goes with everything in the world (and works all year ’round).
4. Everlane’s Petra Portfolio sells out constantly (it’s in stock on the site now) because it’s just simple perfection: clean lines, quality leather, and a great price for such a quality bag.
5. You may have seen Tom Ford’s Carrie sunglasses (which I own in both black and white because I’m terrible)…oh, once or twice. Or one or two hundred times. If you’re into oversized and round and would like to get complimented an average of once every ten feet, these are the sunglasses for you.
6. Remember my just-because pave X ring (from this post)? It’s such a good one: simple enough for everyday (and classic enough to look just as good thirty years from now) but dramatic enough to feel like a for-real indulgence.
7. You know how you’re always looking for the perfect pinky nude lipstick? I found it for you. It’s called “Pinky Nude.”
8. I’m obsessed with four-finger rings, and while these are the dream, Gorjana’s version is far more affordable and just as cute.
9. MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation is the one product that I have not left the house without for the past decade. No exaggeration. If I go away for a trip and forget to bring with me, I have to run out and buy one ASAP. Because I do not go without it. Everrr.
10. The sweetest moon-and-star necklace makes for the sweetest special-occasion gift.
11. Clinique conceived of its Black Honey lipstick as “a black turtleneck for lips.” That’s all you really need to know.
12. I think I have written every post ever published on this site (including this one) while wearing UGG Dakota slippers.
13. Click ‘n’ Grow’s Herb Planters (mine – a Christmas gift from my in-laws – is in the process of sprouting right now) make for such a fun gift, and are especially great for us professional plant-killers, because apparently they are unkillable.
14. I was a little “huh…those are weird” when I first saw Eileen Fisher’s harem pants…and now I’m all “PLEASE GLUE THEM TO MY LEGS.” They are so comfortable, and make laying around the house like a slug look super-fashionable.
15. I think we all know by now that face oils are the best. This one transformed my skin.
16. And finally, if you’re in the market for a cigar-band ring, the Kelly Wearstler one that Kendrick found for me for Christmas is just about perfect: simple and classic, but with subtle detailing that makes it feel like a piece of art.
