By which I mean the tie clip, not the utter lack of regard for his own well-being.
Tie clips? Sexy on a stick, and such little problem-solvers!
First of all, tie clips address the issue of how to mix up a guy’s outfits when he owns a sum total of one suit and two shirts; they add a touch of color and a splash of pizzazz, and make boys feel like they’re not totally being shoved off of the accessory train.
Second, their high collectible factor means they make excellent presents…sort of like the way cooler version of cufflinks or golf balls. You can find them at a wide range of prices, and they’re one of those things that you can never have too many of. Christmas/birthday/anniversary/graduation present? Totally covered, and you didn’t even have to step foot in a Sharper Image! Whew.
There are lots of great tie clips on the market at present, but since we’re working a Mad Men vibe here, I’d say go vintage or go home. And while we’re at it, let’s go ahead and bring back pocket squares, shall we? I love a man who can rock a puff.
