If you live in the Westchester area and have wee ones, you need to know about Over The Moon Music.
Yes, I know: music classes for babies, huh?, et cetera. But it’s the best: first of all, it’s not even a “class” at all – it’s more like playtime with music included (even though the grownups present can feel wonderfully parent-y about exposing their children to extremely subtle lessons about rhythm and tone). And you use things like egg shakers and jingle bells – whee – and kids are free to participate (or not) to the extent that they’re comfortable with. If what they feel like doing is taking off their socks over and over instead of jingle bell-ing (ahem), they can totally do that.
And mostly…Indy loves it. And I love it. And I can tell that the other moms and dads who go with their kids love it, because we actually talk to each other before and during the classes, which is fantastic and makes me feel even more like I’m a part of this community.
