I just love the Costume Institute red carpet. This year, I loved it maybe a little less (what’s with all the weirdly safe choices and underdressing?) but still. STILL.
Christina Ricci (in Zac Posen) seems to be the runaway Best Dressed winner (and I agree: damn), but here are some more looks I loved:
Naomi Campbell, in McQueen, did Met Ball right: completely weird, but still glamorous and gorgeous. And Chanel Iman, over there in Dolce & Gabbana, is at the opposite end of the spectrum: understated, simple, and elegant. A little (or a lot) casual for the gala…but who doesn’t want to look like this? And the studded shoes. Rrr.
Eva Mendes’ Stella McCartney look may actually be my personal favorite: the COLOR! And the gold belt! And the billowy-yet-still-sexy cut! And in keeping with the ’70s vibe, I love Vera Wang’s whole look, from the Grecian headpiece to the chartreuse everything else. That dress in white? Totally my kind of bridal.
