Is it time to talk winter coats yet?
Earmuffs?
I may be going a little overboard with the earmuffs, sure…but let’s just be honest: I sort of wish you could wear earmuffs all year round. They’re the best.
And considering the fact that a potentially snow-containing “super storm” is set to hit the East Coast today (I already ordered a shovel off of Amazon, so we’re good)…let’s do it.
This season, the coat I’m into is a slightly oversized, menswear-inspired style, like the one I’m wearing here (discovered in TJ Maxx a couple of weeks ago). It’s tailored enough for work, but the fun details (like that single zippered pocket) make it feel weekend-appropriate, as well.
My favorite things about this particular piece: the large lapels, the sturdy fabric, and the fact that it’s lined for extra warmth (which, oddly enough, is a feature I don’t feel like I see all that often on coats in this particular shape). And while a black coat always works, navy is a slightly more unexpected (but still classic) pick; I love it paired with red and burgundy.
(Those are the aforementioned must-have red pumps.)
On me: Coat, jeans, pumps, bag, and earmuffs from TJ Maxx.
