I’m in the middle of a massive Our House Our House Our House obsession.
I love our house.
I’m excited about our move in a vacuum – and specifically excited about the prospect of setting up a whole new space to live in…but still: I sort of wish I could pick up our house and drag it out to California with me. It’s just so…romantic. It’s like looking at the face of a person I’ve loved for years and years – there are flaws all over, I guess, but I don’t even see them: all I see is what’s special and beautiful and perfect.
Up there is one of my favorite views, and one that I don’t think I’ve ever shown on RG before – that foyer staircase is all the original 1900 wood, and beyond it is our kitchen and sunroom.
And that kitchen? Is actually one room I’m looking forward to trading in for a different version. Not because it’s not beautiful – I love the color, and those crazy moldings, and the fact that it’s flooded with light – but oh my god kitchens are fun to fantasize about. They’re just where you live, and the possibilities are endless.
Can we look at some best-of-the-best ones, please?
White and mint, yes. (The best part of this kitchen is that you can totally get those pendant lights and that table at Ikea, and then just scour thrift stores for some metal chairs to paint pale green.)
(You can find knockoff versions of those Eames chairs here.)
God I love that rug.
And that rug.
I mean, I think it’s pretty obvious that our next kitchen is going to include a pair of horns.
And HAND CHAIRS.
No, but for real: Where do I find hand chairs? I need to know.
