I’m over diaper bags.
Over. Them.
I mean, I still stash one in my car because obviously I still require all those bottles/diapers/wipes/pacifiers/extra clothing/red bull for mommy that must be toted along when a baby is in residence…but I no longer want to be loaded down with a massive bag.
I’m ready to return to my small and cute purse-carrying former self, thankyouverymuch.
But there’s a little problem with that, and the problem is that my life still requires me to carry really quite a lot with me, even when you eliminate the diapers and wipes situation. When I train it into the city it’s usually for a bunch of different things (meetings/shoots/events/whateva) and I really do need, at a minimum, the following:
- iPad
- Wallet
- Glasses
- Sunglasses
- Makeup
- Jewelry for changes between shoots
- Face Moisturizer
- Hand Moisturizer
- Phone with extra charger pack
- Keys
Basically a normal amount of stuff for a woman running around all day, but still: when I try to stuff all that into one of my regular purses, it either doesn’t fit or only fits if I turn a formerly sleek-looking handbag into an exploding marshmallow.
Enter: this little bit of amazingness.
I’ve been circling around the idea of picking up a black leather day-to-night bag in a classic shape for a long time now (believe it or not, I don’t own one), but haven’t found the perfect one. I want mine to be, you know, gorgeous and chic, but I also need it to make sense with my life. It needs to have a nice, long strap (preferably one that can be adjusted to shoulder-bag length as well). Multiple pockets. Gold hardware, because I like gold hardware. And it needs to be big enough to fit, say, a regular-sized (not mini) tablet, but small enough to not make me feel weighed down.
Anyway, the Lo & Sons Pearl Crossbody is basically a miracle, and I’m obsessed, and now I have to get one for my mom too (surprise, mom!). Oh – and it’s especially great for travel; I was so excited to have it on the plane with me yesterday and be able to take along all my travel-related necessities without having to haul a massive tote through the airport.
If I could give it eight thumbs-ups, I would. Check it out here.
