Last night I met up with Katy from Sugarlaws for cocktails at Cinema Brasserie, and I gushed a bit about the post that’s up on her site right now, in which she’s wearing the look at left. I love the idea of pairing socks with pumps. I also don’t know that I could pull it off, mostly because I’m not sure I own a single pair of matched socks (ahem, Virgil).
At left, Katy is wearing J.Crew socks (I think they’re these; $9.50). I think the key with this look is to keep the rest of your outfit relatively simple and let the odd awesomeness of wearing socks with pumps take center stage. And definitely avoid frilly and/or white, unless you’re going more for Suri Cruise than Alexa Chung.
