I’ve been toying with the idea of having our kids share a room while they’re still little mostly because it sounds fun and bond-building. This NY Times article explores the “phenomenon” (not a phenomenon) of wealthy parents buying NYC apartments for their recent graduates to live in and charging them an “affordable” rent. “She grew up in a nice house,” said one father. “She hadn’t experienced life that way.” Oh god, that quote is bad. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, though, I get why the parents do it – presumably because they’re worried about their kids and knowing they’re living in a safe building makes them feel better – and I certainly get why the kids accept it. So my beloved Tom Ford glasses broke. I am sad. But when I was in NYC I stopped into a See Eyewear and found these, which are close enough to the original but still something a little different…so I feel a little better. (Mostly because soon I will be able to see again.)
