This is happening today! Yeeeee.

Oh. It all makes a lot more sense now. (What Happens To A Woman’s Brain After Having A Baby, via The Atlantic.)

Penis cozies. And broccoli. (Things You Can Find Knitting Patterns For, via The Toast.)

I have rediscovered an obsession with bellbottom jeans. These are really good.

When you have your first child, you are the center of the universe. No one has ever had a baby before. By the time you have your third, you’re vomiting into Target bags and “decorating” your nursery by putting a box of diapers in it. (The Truth About Having A Third Baby, via Scary Mommy.)

True story: there are few things more fun than making robot costumes. (And those are ice skates, if you were wondering.)

One of my BFFs, Nadine of NadineJolie.com, just made a huuuuuge announcement and I could not possibly be more excited for her. DVR: set!

These are great booties at a great price. And they’re sold out practically everywhere, but I found ’em for ya!

This story of a woman dating her own father is fascinating because of the overwhelming psychological issues at play here, and is also tremendously upsetting. (Please read with caution, as it could be triggering for some people.) (What It’s Like To Date Your Dad, via NY Mag.)

If you wake up my napping children, be prepared to suffer the consequences. (Doorbell Notes From Moms Who Just Want To Be Left Alone, via Mommyish.)

I do not wear sneakers all that often, but I feel like I’d actually wear these. Classic.

My son took this picture of me. I’m just showing you ’cause I’m proud :). And because it’s SO COOL to watch him growing into his own person with his own interests and talents.

Glorious. (The Best Tina Fey & Amy Poehler Golden Globes Jokes Of All Time, via Crushable.)

I am thisclose to buying these earrings, because they’re the most beautiful color ever.

So this woman has breasts that weigh twenty pounds. Each. (NSFW.) (5 Things You Should Know About Beshine, The Woman With 20-Poun Breasts, via The Gloss.)

A reader recently asked me for an opinion on what to do with a bunch of glass bottles with interesting shapes. My suggestion: fill ’em with copper wire strung with tiny LED lights to create a DIY version of that pretty centerpiece pictured above.

These are insane and amazing and I will never own them because they’re two thousand dollars but I LOVE THEM.

What happens when a woman doesn’t reply to an unsolicited compliment on social media? She gets slammed with hatred, usually. What happens when she accepts the compliment? Same thing. (This Is What Happens When Women Actually Accept A Compliment From A Man Online, via BuzzFeed.)

A couple of days ago I linked to a NY Times op-ed criticizing the paper’s decision not to publish this week’s Charlie Hebdo cover. I don’t agree with the Times’ decision, either – although I do understand the rationale behind it – and given that, was sort of surprised at myself for choosing to link out to an article about the cover on my Facebook page rather than to post the image itself, out of fear of offending any Muslim readers. I don’t think I’m happy with my decision. Because of course it’s important to display sensitivity in the face of religious beliefs, but I think the values that the cover expressed – it’s a message of reconciliation, of forgiveness, of resilience, and of the belief that even the greatest insult does not warrant the events of last week – are even more so. And also because it’s NEWS. We’ve got to talk about this, and the image is part of what we’re talking about. I would love to know your thoughts.
