Spent yesterday assembling a a succulent display and moisturizing, because all that holiday madness left me a bit of a mess. (That planter kit, by the way, is pretty much the neatest thing EVER – they send you everything you need and you do the planting, then hang the finished project on your wall once the roots take hold. Coooool.)
The Internet’s reaction to Fox News’ request that viewers share what they’re “over” is just wonderful. #socialmediastrategyfail (Related: Fox News Says President Obama Plans To Ban Christmas Cookies, because obviously.) (via The New Civil Rights Movement.)
That ear jacket thing isn’t a trend I was planning on hopping on board with mostly because my life at the moment doesn’t really include fabulously ornate earring-requiring outings…but I like this pair so much I’d wear them at home, with pajamas, just because.
Blue lipstick that comes out as a A super-sheer blackberry shadel? Ooooo.
Because 2015 is going to be a good one, one of my favorite songs from my favorite band, featuring my favorite person (watch carefully; the video is not what it appears to be).
Here’s a list of all the stores holding massive post-Christmas online sales, because maybe you have gift cards or maybe you’re just stuck at home sick like everyone else in the world and feel like browsing (via Racked).

Looking for a new scent for the new year? Joie’s Folle de Joie is an unexpected blend of fresh citrus and rose with warm cognac and leather, and comes in the prettiest vintage-inspired bottle.
Pinterest, in a bid to compete with the likes of Google and Facebook for ad dollars, is opening up the space to companies looking to buy promoted pins. Says Pinterest’s head of partnerships: “On Facebook, you think about friends, and on Twitter you think about news. On Pinterest, you think about what you want to do, where you want to go, what you want to buy.” Makes sense to me; if I don’t like it, I just won’t repin it. (via the NY Times.)
Last night’s movie night featured a baby who wasn’t especially into Guardians Of The Galaxy. Related: click here for a list of what’s new on Netflix for January 2015.
Decided to go for a space-saver high chair (that attaches to one of your existing dining room chairs) for Goldie – we needed a new one because we got rid of our old one somewhere along the line – and was super excited to find a style that’s not only “not ugly”…but actually kind of…chic. (I couldn’t believe it either.)
How to make your “get fit in 2015” resolution actually (kind of) fun: Tory Burch Fit Bit cover, of course! (Is it weird that I totally want a Fit Bit despite the fact that I also totally don’t care about actually getting fit at the moment?)
OK, so remember a couple of years ago when those hidden-wedge sneakers were a big trend, started by those Isabel Marants? I bought a pair of Steve Madden knockoffs and figured I’d be over them in about five seconds…but have recently rediscovered them and started wearing them constantly, with ankle-length black jeans. I think they may be a classic.
Please make this perfect-est roast chicken. I made it last night, and it is. The perfect-est.
Want to see what Kendrick gave me for Christmas? THIS. Eeeee.
Our society just loves making moms feel bad about their choices (Moms Who Were Publicly Shamed For Nonsensical Reasons In 2014, via Mommyish).
These are my favorite boots of 2014. I will never own them. That’s okay; they’re still pretty to look at.
Excellent reminders for all of us, gay, straight, and everywhere in between. Mostly the “turn off your damn phone” one. (The 6 Resolutions All Gay Men Should Make, via The Advocate.)
