Surprise dinner guest = no problem at all…at least when you have lemons, basil, mozzarella and pasta in your refrigerator (I pretty much always keep these ingredients handy exactly for occasions like this one).
Last night Francesca dropped by because she had a couple of appointments in our neighborhood, and I asked her to stay for dinner. We wanted to spend the time chatting rather than cooking, so I figured that Twisty Lemon Linguine, which takes mere minutes to make (and is completely delicious and foolproof) was the perfect solution.

Oh, and remember when I said (in the comments) that I’d love to serve the Artisan Salts that Melissa gave me in little Jadeite dishes with tiny gold spoons…but that I didn’t own anything of the sort? Well, I continue to not own vintage green salt bowls, but as it turns out, I do own bitty golden spoons…and they were a gift from Francesca herself (they came in the set of Turkish tea glasses that she brought me back from Istanbul)!
See? Pretty.
