I get that for some they may be terrifying dream-haunters, but to me Lamb Cups are unparalleled in terms of adorableness. If you have some upcoming occasion – baby shower, child’s birthday, or rave – for which these bitty beasts might come in handy, you’re in luck, ’cause they’re also super-easy to make (I constructed the three pictured below in five minutes flat on the set in Des Moines, and wanted to kiss them to pieces).
Start with Pillsbury Funfetti cupcakes (or mini-pastries of your choice), and then follow these steps:
1. Cover the top of the cupcake with 4-5 vanilla icing rosettes (basically little circular shapes); just fill a Ziploc bag with icing and snip off the corner to create a pipette if that’s what you have handy.
2. Use a large marshmallow to fashion a mouth and ears: snip off semicircles from the edges for ears, and then cut a slit 1/3 of the way in from the far end of the remaining marshmallow to make a snout-type thing.
3. Add another large icing rosette between the ears and snout to create a raised head-shaped area.
4. Using clean scissors, cut a large white jellybean in half for the eyes, and use a food marker to create eyeballs. Place on top of marshmallow mouth, as pictured above.
5. Use a dab of icing to affix a small pink jellybean to the marshmallow snout-thing to serve as the nose.
6. Gaze at your creation in awe, because it is so very, very cute.
