I’ve had the lamp pictured above (the one on my vanity) ever since high school, and in subsequent years it’s moved around the country with me from New York to Boston to Hollywood to Sherman Oaks and back again (a miracle that the only thing that’s happened to it is a lost finial, which I replaced with a pretty pink crystal one that I later lost as well…sigh). It’s a lot more traditional than my usual style, but I think it’s very clean-looking and adds nice polish to a tabletop.

But while browsing around for lamps online, I discovered this one ($39.99; also comes in a white base/black shade combo)…
…and now I sort of want it. I mean, it’s an owl lamp. Come on: you sort of want it, too.

Perfect for a bedside table or vanity, right?! I’m especially partial to the mint green.
