Last night I was invited to stop into the Juicy Couture showroom to meet Tracy Anderson, whom you may have heard of as the lady behind Gwyneth Paltrow’s body. I was expecting fitness tips and faux cocktails.
I got exercise.
Which, OK, I’ll admit it: I was lame and totally pretended to be fiddling with my camera instead of following along with Tracy’s moves. But I was in a cocktail dress, and I was already off-balance enough without waving my arms around in the air.
But! That said: I went home with Tracy’s Tracy Anderson Method DVD…and you know what I’m thinking? After this baby is born, I may freeze my gym membership and try out DVD workouts for a little bit. Mostly because the image of me running around our living room and cursing at the TV while a baby sleeps happily in a corner is too funny.
Seriously, I’ve sort of been wondering how to finagle the whole post-baby-exercise thing, since I don’t think we’re going to try daycare or anything like that at least for the first few months. I was thinking a DVD might do the trick, but the last time I tried exercising in front of my TV it involved raising soup cans to a VHS tape of a thong-wearing Cindy Crawford. It’s been awhile, in other words. So I’m pretty excited about giving this a shot. The cover of the DVD says that it’ll “transform my body”…and I suppose the baby-removal process will give me a jump-start on that one, so: halfway there already!
P.S. Tracy is adorable. Just had to say it.
Now, Juicy. My camera wasn’t cooperating with me, so here are some screenshots of my favorite summer picks from the line. I loved the light, breezy dresses (there are some great cotton maxidresses), but for me it was the accessories that were the real standouts.
Clockwise from top left: Pleated Brushstroke Dress ($378; I put this in the Boho Summer Dresses post earlier this week; love it); Duchess Glitter Wedges ($195); Lurex Straw Sunday Clutch ($98); Era Sunglasses ($120); Wood Bangle Set ($88); Lurex Striped Straw Hat ($78)
