Those of you who’ve been hanging around these parts for awhile may remember Ippolita as the jewelry brand that just about gave me whiplash while walking through Bergdorf’s on my way to an event awhile back (I spotted their stuff in a display case and had one of those temporary-insanity moments where you try to convince yourself that emptying your bank account on an armful of rose gold bangles is an excellent idea).
Ippolita is definitely up there in my favorite jewelry brands ever – I just love how their pieces manage to be simultaneously spare and dramatic – and I think they’re perfect for, as my buddy Ashley said yesterday evening, “special occasion gifts for reasonable people” (as in, those looking for an indulgence that doesn’t equal the price of their rent). For a birthday, Mother’s Day, or some other to-do, I can’t imagine any woman who wouldn’t be thrilled to open a gift box and find one of these lovelies inside.
Favorite Gift Picks:
Clockwise from top left: Four Stone Hoops in Moonstone ($395); Lollipop Station Bangle in Blue Topaz ($4,500; I know, but I had to include it – too gorgeous); Rose Gold Fettuccine Hoops ($295); Silver 5-Stone Bangle in Clear Quartz ($295); Rose Gold 5-Stone Lollipop Bangle in Smoky Quartz ($395); Black Resin 2-Stone Bangle in Mother Of Pearl ($295).
In case you can’t tell, the rose gold pieces – and pretty much all the bangles – are my favorites. Yum.
A couple of these turquoise stunners paired with a white dress (like the Eyelet Drop-Waist Dress, $49.90 from Express) = summer perfection.
