The keys to this easy, pretty look are navy and nature: keep things simple with a basic blue-and-white palette, add a few textured elements like a wooden window covering, soft throw, and woven screen that doubles as a headboard, and you’ve created a classic, lovely (and inexpensive) bedroom.
P.S. For retro-looking metal tables like the teal one pictured above, keep an eye out at places like Housing Works – sometimes they’ll get influxes of metal tables and chairs from schools that have a great midcentury look and go for next-to-nothing. Even an old metal child’s desk can make for a great side table with a little imagination.
