During my junior year of college, I decided to take a semester to study abroad in London. I enrolled at University College London, and ended up living in a dorm room that looked very much like a prison cell (complete with a serious mildew-and-spiders problem, oh my god) but was fortunately located in a part of town that – to my mind, anyway – was definitely the coolest.
The best part of where we lived: it was about a two-minute walk away from the Camden markets, a sort of linked-up bunch of retail shops that sold everything from souvenirs to club wear to food and antiques. (If none of this is still true, apologies – we’re working from 10-year-old memories here.) I didn’t do a lot of shopping while I lived in London, actually (because of the whole Terrible Exchange Rate issue), but I did buy a few things.
And my favorite thing that I bought was this skirt.
It was three dollars, and I’ve had it for a decade now…so I guess that’s what you could call “a good investment.”
On me: Top via T.J. Maxx; vintage skirt (similar); scarf from my cousin Tina last Christmas; Foley & Corinna Mid City Tote; Nine West boots (sold out, but these are similar); GANT sunglasses; bracelet c/o Juicy Couture; cowlick my own.
