Derek Lam’s new DesigNation collection, pictured below, is inspired by the easygoing, sensual nature of Rio, and geared at the budget-friendly consumer looking for versatile pieces that transition from day to night, beach to cafe.
The collection won’t be available until April, but I got the chance to check out a preview…and thought you might be interested in a little sneak peek as well. Here you go!
I’m not sure the collection is exactly my style – I wish that the cut was a little more relaxed around the upper body and that the multicolored pieces were a bit more vibrant – but of the three items pictured above I’d be most likely to wear the blue dress; I like its sort of 1970s-librarian-on-a-cruise-ship feel.
I shot the pieces with minimal styling (the Juicy Couture necklace and belts are my own, but I otherwise skipped the extras; also, P.S., I’m not pregnant – the orange dress just fit me a little oddly), because I want to know: what do you think?
