A totally, totally candid shot of me in my room at the Renaissance Hotel studying the scripts for tomorrow’s shoots (I’m doing some cooking segments for Meredith – Better’s parent company – in their test kitchen in Des Moines, and will be making things like a butter pecan ice cream loaf and pumpkin pie – yum).
I arrived in Iowa around 3:30, and headed straight to Meredith’s offices for a quick wardrobe fitting. Generally speaking, bright solids (like the sweater I’m wearing above, which is my go-to looks-good-on-film top) work best on camera. The bulk of the shoot will be close-ups of my hands, so first on tomorrow morning’s agenda is a mani for my not-so-pretty paws (a little body makeup may be necessary to cover all traces of my run-in with my microplane last month). Later on we’re headed out to paint the town…well, pinkish, since we’re getting up at 6:30AM for the shoot, but hopefully I’ll get some time tomorrow night to wander around and check things out.
