Q. Hi Jordan,
I love your blog and your sense of style!! You always have amazing, affordable suggestions mixed in with high-end splurges. I’m currently looking for a summer bag in a light (or bright) color and was wondering if you have any suggestions. I’m looking to spend $150 or less, but am interested in what bags you might recommend for the upcoming summer?
Thanks!
Diana
A. Thanks so much, Diana!
Ah, handbags: my very favorite thing. This summer, I like bright colors (especially orange and green) with either a little masculine leather/hardware or nautical detailing, as well as a bit of drama (fringe, embroidery, or unusual shapes). I wasn’t sure whether you were looking for big, small, casual, or day-to-night, so I found lots and lots of different options for you. And most are under $70…so you can get two!
Old Navy Mini Linen-Blend Saddle Bag ($9.99)
World Market Nautical Red Stripe Bag ($29.99)
Aldo Diroana ($40)
Wild Mustard Vegan Yellow Handbag ($42)
Aldo Merlette ($45)
Nine West City Bound Crossbody ($55 on sale)
Marc Fisher Camera Satchel ($57 on sale)
Changeling Three Ways Green Backpack ($63; can work as a handbag, messenger bag or backpack)
Rebecca Minkoff Three-Zip Rocker Crossbody in White ($136.50)
Foley & Corinna Disco City (also available in white; $138.50)
Rebecca Minkoff Baby Belle Crossbody ($150)
And just one that’s above your price limit, because it’s an incredible color and on sale:
