DIY Cucumber Hint Water

I am utterly obsessed with Hint Water.

Have you ever tried it? It’s delicious in a way that makes no sense, considering that it’s just water that tastes ever-so-vaguely like an ever-so-vague flavor (such as blackberry, watermelon, grapefruit, or – my favorite – cucumber).

The only problem with Hint Water is that it exists only in stores, and sometimes I am home at 10PM and my son is in bed and I all of a sudden realize: need Hint Water. Now.

Fortunately, another good thing about Hint Water is that it is silly-easy to make yourself. I looked it up, thinking that there must be some trick to it, something in it besides the obvious, and…nope. Just the obvious. Which makes me love it even more.

How to make my favorite flavor:

Steep cucumber slices (no need to peel) in a pitcher of water for a couple of hours, and then scoop out (or don’t, if you have a pitcher with a strain in the pourer). I also add a squeeze of fresh lemon before serving, just because I feel like otherwise I haven’t actually done anything. Which I haven’t, but that’s besides the point.
