Can We Talk About Perfumes For A Moment, Please?

Because I would love to hear your recommendations.

First, this (Jo Malone Grapefruit) is not my regular perfume. My regular perfume is Bond No. 9 Nuits de Noho, which is a kinda musky vanilla-y scent not too dissimilar from Thierry Mugler's Angel, but less sweet and a bit sexier. I love it. I'm also feeling in the mood to try something different.

I brought the Jo Malone with me to Cali mostly because I want to leave as many personal care-type products here as possible when we make our return trip, and the shot-glass-sized bottle (1 oz) seemed like the right amount to last me the summer. And I thought the Grapefruit scent would be nice and fresh. But as it turns out…eh. I've heard great things about Jo Malone scents (and very much want to try out this one and this one), but the Grapefruit? I like it okay, but I don't know that it's really "me."

My Looks

Tiny Clutches And Silk Blouses And More Things With A Limited Lifespan

(Kendrick says I look like a safari hunter here. I say safari hunters don't wear stilettos.)

Around this point in the pregnancy when I was expecting Indy, I put up a post in which I was wearing snakeskin pants (that didn't zipper, but whatever, that's what rubber bands and long tops are for) and wrote about how weird it was that I was in the mood for snakeskin-pant-wearing at 8,352,592 months pregnant, but hey: great.

I wouldn't have thought I'd be in the mood for heels and tiny clutches at this particular point either, but I am, so hey: great.

At-Home Spa Day

I don’t get to go to the spa too often. I mean, who does? It’s expensive and time-consuming, and is more of a (very) occasional indulgence than a regular occurrence. But some concentrated pampering time sounds good at the moment, and so: at-home spa day it is.

Obviously Spa Water is a must, both because hydration is the ultimate beauty cure and because cucumber water is delicious and makes getting all that hydration much more appealing.

Fringe Benefits

8 1/2 months pregnant + first West Coast dr appt = as good of a reason as any to break out the fringe booties.

I wasn't sure about bringing these boots with me out here; I figured it'd be a zillion degrees and I'd spend 99.9% of my time in my favorite sandals (these in black, which if you do not own yet, you should probably go do that; nearly every single one of my friends owns a pair at this point and I swear: everyone who has them rhapsodizes about them).
