Weird Product Test-Run: Lierac Huile Sensorielle

I am completely obsessed with this product.

I'm a huge, huge fan of multi-purpose oils - in the past I've used (and loved) African Marula Oil for my face and Leonor Greyl Oil for my hair. They're probably a bit too much for those who aren't alligator-skinned…but for the Dry Ones among us? They are miraculous. And Lierac Huile Sensorielle, which can be used on face, body and hair, is especially wonderful: fast-absorbing, incredible-smelling, super-light, and deeply moisturizing.

Also: even though it's only been around for a couple of years, it feels like one of those vintage-y, romantic cult products that only you know about. Which is always fun.

How-To: Boho Braids

When warm weather arrives, so do The Braids. Seriously: there is no easier solution for a running-around-town style…and adding a little sparkle means the look can go from day to night, as well.

P.S. Not a huge fan of the word "boho"…but this look kind of is. Boho. So what can you do?

How-To: Perfect Self-Tanner Application

It’s happening!

Finally, the warm weather is just about here. But while most of us are certainly ready to embrace the sun’s rays in spirit, we (meaning me, as you can see here) could still use a little prep work before we start skipping off in shorts and skirts with our winter-pale skin out for all to see.

To the rescue: the perfect self-tanner application.

This Old Thing

I write a lot about the stuff I wore in high school. I wore everything from chartreuse prom dresses from the ‘50s, not-quite-right overalls, Salvation Army pajamas, and for-real witch's robes, and it was all very confusing-looking…but the fact that it was confusing-looking makes sense; I was confused. About who I was and what I wanted, and a lot of that came out through what I wore.

I probably wouldn’t throw on a neon ball gown “just because” these days (although you never know), but I always think it’s interesting when I notice that despite just how different everything in my life is now, so many of the things I loved two decades ago are still hanging around.

Whoa.
