I frequently get asked how it is that I eat all the junk that I eat without gaining weight, and I suppose the answer (in addition to having a relatively slight frame) is that I pay a ton of attention to what my body wants at that minute. If it’s dinnertime but I’m not hungry, I don’t eat. If I’m hungry, I eat until I’m full. And when deciding what to eat, I just give my tummy what it wants…even if what it wants is an entire jar of pickles (hey, I never said that this was a good idea, or necessarily healthy; it’s just the way I work).

Last night, this is what it wanted: roasted asparagus, sauteed portobello mushrooms, a sliced tomato with sea salt, a glass of Goats Do Roam, and a scrambled egg (not pictured).

Go figure.

I was just going through old emails, and noticed a few from you guys that slipped through my fingers! I feel absolutely terrible…please know that if I don’t respond to you within a few days, that means that I am being my spazzy self, not that I meant to ignore you. So feel free to give me a virtual knock on the head and remind me to respond.

Those whitish blobs on the lower right? Those would be toasted coconut marshmallows from One Girl Cookies. I think one or two of them tucked into a tiny, translucent bag would make a gorgeous (and unusual) wedding favor.

Morgan and I have decided to apply ourselves to figuring out how to make them ASAP. I will report back.

Beautiful floral designs from Root Stock & Quade. The boutonniere that Morgan’s holding reminded me of the arrangements at my own wedding - I incorporated pods, berries, and other unusual elements to give the bouquets and boutonnieres a more rustic feel.

Some other vendors that I particularly loved:

Paperfinger (beautiful, unusual calligraphy and personalized stamps)

Blanca Monros Gomez Fine Jewelry (I desperately want one of her stunning, delicate rose gold bands with a single diamond)
