Our Wedding (In Three Minutes)

I've been meaning to share this (obviously rather old) video for awhile now - and was reminded of it last weekend, when Kendrick's college friends sang at a wedding that we attended. I just love these guys, and think it's so cool that they always perform at big events in each others' lives; the moment when they sang at our ceremony (at around 1:32 in the video) was one of the best moments of my life.

We didn't have an actual videographer - this video was taken by a family friend on a point-and-shoot camera - but I love it even more because it's not polished and perfect; it's just exactly how it was. (There's a longer version as well, but I thought I'd post something a little more bite-sized.)

Happy Friday; hope you have a lovely weekend!

See that?

That is a happy and relaxed person, right there.

I've never been to Cape Cod before in my life (we stayed in Chatham, where our friends Colin and Leslie's wedding was held) but by Sunday morning I was sort of casually browsing the real estate section and fantasizing about living in a weathered shingle house with a big, white Nora Ephron movie-esque porch, spending my afternoons drinking Arnold Palmers and eating steamed clams.

Or something.

Into The Woods

The fact that Sunday felt more like a really beautiful day in October than almost-June stymied my plans to spend at least part of my birthday passed out in the sun at our local pool.

So we improvised with a walk through the woods.

Remember how I said way back when we were thinking of moving that one of the reasons I wanted to leave the city was because I wanted us to be able to go fishing not because it was a huge event involving rental cars and long drives, but just because that's what we feel like doing? This is exactly what I meant.

To get a chance to walk through any non-Central Park woods used to involve some fairly considerable planning, as well as a train or a car or a bus...or all three. And so I never did it. Ever.

Daily InstaGlam: At Sunset

How Sunday came to a close: watching the sun set by the bridge with my two best friends.

We walked back to our car along the path that runs next to the train tracks, explaining to Indy that that's where choo-choos go, and when the MetroNorth went by the guy driving leaned out the window, pointed at us, and honked the horn. Choo-choo, just like we'd said, just for him.

Best ending to a night ever.
