Oh my goodness, did I ever have fun at Friday’s JITH shoot.
But more on that later.
For now, let’s talk clothing, because it hit the high ’70s on Friday, and there’s just nothing more fun than those first few days of warm-weather dressing.
I’ve been wanting to wear red denim for awhile now, mostly because back when Kendrick and I were messaging each other over MySpace (before we had ever met), he invited me to Harlem Shakes’ record release party and told me I’d recognize him because he’d be the one “wearing the red pants.” And I think I sort of internally rolled my eyes at the overwhelming hipsterness of it all, but, as it turned out, those red pants of his were maybe my favorite things in his closet.
And ever since, I’ve though, hey, that would be a nice thing to wear. What with the memory and all.
But I’ve never jumped the gun, because I couldn’t think how I’d wear red jeans, other than with very straightforward neutrals (black, white, gray)…and I tend to prefer blue denim with stuff like that.
And then this Very.com blouse arrived in the mail all the way from England, and little lightbulbs went off, and I thought: that’s how I want to wear my cranberry jeans. With cappuccino and carousel horses.
Did you see the episode of ANTM the week before last? Well, I am obsessed with that show, so you better believe that I did, and if you recall, Very.com was the fashion brand that all the models had to create ad campaigns around. They’re also the brand that I’m collaborating with to pull together a few cute (and really affordable) Spring looks over the next couple of weeks, starting with this blouse, which is now up there in my favorite tops in my closet. It’s lightweight, elegant, and goes with everything. And did I mention the carousel horses? It has carousel horses.
On me: Blouse c/o Very.com, Paige Denim Verdugo skinny jeans, Swati Jr* cuff, necklace c/o Stone Savant, GUESS sunglasses, Nine West heels, Kooba purse.
