What I Look Like Every Day Lately

This. With a head, though.

I am a creature of habit. This manifests frequently in my food choices (recent objects of obsession have included jarlsberg cheese, Crack Pasta, Chicken Cacciatore, and Cinna-Graham Honeycomb Cereal), but can also be seen in my clothing picks. I wear the same few things over and over and over for months, unable to find anything else I want to put on that I like as much.

Lately, I’ve been wearing Vintage Revolution skinny jean leggings, Miz Mooz Janessa Button boots, and my new Ellington Mia Tote (which reader Amanda, who works at Ellington, sent me to take for a test-run and which was also recently mistaken for YSL – true story) close to 100% of the time.

I love them so.

The Miz Mooz boots are as perfect as they get: they’re completely comfortable, have just enough of a heel to make you feel sexy, and are the cutest ever. Oh, and they’re just over $200, which means they’re sold out pretty much everywhere. But I found them for you here!

And now let’s talk Ellington: these bags should be a fortune. And yet, somehow, they are not. Pictured above are two more of my favorites – the Star Clutch ($129) and the Mia Small Messenger ($79): both classics that will never, ever, ever go out of style. Seriously? That Star Clutch in black works for every situation, everywhere, all the time.

Hey! I do love the Mia Small Messenger…I love that it has structure, that's what I hate about most over the shoulder bags: they are way too floppy for my taste. I'm def going to think about this bag! Thanks, Olivia

Details on the jacket please Mrs. Lovely!!!

let me know if you get it! just FYI the mia tote that i'm wearing is pretty slouchy – it looks like the smaller version is indeed more structured though.

but who makes the coat? It's cute!

it's la rok, but it comes with a fur lining (it was a gift, and you can remove the lining and wear only the outer shell as i'm doing above, but still…), so what i would recommend is this free people one, which is almost identical: http://www.freepeople.com/clothes-outerwear/we-the-free-fur-trimmed-parka/?cm_mmc=Performics-_-Affiliates-_-Skimlinks-_-Primary

but if you are dying for the la rok, you can find it on shopbop…and you can click here for more parkas! http://ramshackleglam.com/blog/2010/08/awaiting-fall-with-bated-breath/

  • jordanreid

oop, sorry – this is the correct “more parkas” link: http://ramshackleglam.com/blog/2010/08/wanta-parka/

  • jordanreid

wow, didn't see that coming, “Yah.”

that's right: it was a gift. from a family member. and i felt weird about being given something with a fur component, even though i don't wear the lining. and i love my family and am grateful for gifts that i am given. and i also eat meat, and wear leather shoes. and i own a vintage fur vest. AND i love animals…fancy that.

people can be many things at once, and can have conflicting ideas about what they believe in, and sometimes their beliefs don't fit perfectly with their actions. i suspect you probably don't “believe” in passing judgment when you don't know what you're talking about, and yet here you are. given your track record as a commenter, i also suspect you don't particularly like my site, and should take your patronizing attitude elsewhere.

I have the Mia tote and absolutely love it! It holds all my crap and is so much lighter than a leather bag.

  • jordanreid

it's super light, right?! i agree – so much easier to carry around than leather bags.
