Mrs. Flax Looks At A House

So I sort of dressed in costume on my house-hunting trip last week. Kendrick says I looked like Minnie Mouse. I say that, right there, is Mrs. Flax all the way.

Right?

Mrs. Flax also happens to be one of my favorite cinematic characters ever (“‘I’ll make you a deal. You stop being a little bitch for, let’s say, oh, I don’t know, an hour or two, and I won’t knock the religion of your choice for a week”), but that’s besides the point.

The point is, I’m not really a pink girl, and not really a heart-shaped sunglasses girl, and not particularly a bow girl, either. And although I do get into each of these three things on occasion, I’m certainly not an all-three-at-the-same-time girl…so what was all this about?

Dunno.

It just seemed like a good idea. I guess I was in a good mood. A pink hearts and sparkly bows kind of mood.

That’s the bag I won in a raffle a couple of weeks ago. (I know. It was an exciting evening for me.)

Now, costume or no I’m actually quite partial to this outfit, but if you’re looking for just a touch of the Frou and aren’t into going full-on Girly World, my suggestions:

– Pair a bedazzled bag with a simple-as-can-be white tee and boyfriend jeans, pointy-toe flats, and some fantastic sunglasses.

–  Try a pink polka-dot dress with a pair of knee-high, flat black boots and a cozy cardigan.

– Heart-shaped sunglasses? Not for everyone. But if you’re the kind of person whom they’re “for”…I’d wager you know exactly how to wear them. And that is: with everything, all the time.

On me: Dress c/o dee&ray, Hanes Blackout tights, Aldo flats, GANT sunglasses, Lena Erziak purse (won in raffle).

Product info after the jump.

Left: Lulu Guinness purse paired with Asos sunglasses, LNA t-shirt, True Religion jeans, and J. Crew flats.

Right: Republic dress paired with Splendid cardigan, Yves Saint Laurent sunglasses, and Clarks boots.
