What To Wear: Botanical Garden Wedding

Q. Hi Jordan!

My fiance and I are getting married in less than 3 months, and I don’t have a dress yet!

We are having a small ceremony and reception at a botanical garden…and the groom will be wearing a grey linen suit. I’m not a fan of the standard frou frou princess dress and sequins definitely are not my thing, so finding something simple – but not totally boring – off the rack is proving difficult. I also love the blush-tint look but haven’t been able to find anything decent where I live or online.

I was hoping that you might know where to look!

Thanks bunches,

Heather

A. Hey Heather!

Congrats! To me, a botanical garden wedding in the end of summer says simple, comfortable, and romantic with lots of movement and sweet details. Here are nine options, all $1000 or under.

Romantic:

Halston Heritage ($895); A.B.S. ($430); BHLDN ($1000)

Modern/Simple:

Robert Rodriguez ($895); J.Crew ($495); Halston Heritage ($895)

Blush:

Robert Rodriguez ($895; this one’s obviously darker, but I think it’s a beautiful, unusual choice); BCBG ($398); BHLDN ($1000)

My wedding dress was a short white one from BCBG.  It was seriously economical and their customer service is amazing!  I changed sizes after I bought it and even though their return policy is only 10 days, they typically make an exception for brides so I was able to exchange it no prob.  Plus, they have connections with seamstresses to do alterations.

Lastly, if you go short, you can wear it again.  For example… on your anniversary every year.

These are so gorgeous! Great finds. I’m sure they’ll be super useful to a lot of people.
