I Am So Totally A Cosmo Girl

Yeek!

I’m about to be see my name in not one, but two (!!) international editions of one of the formative magazines of my youth: Cosmopolitan. In case you can’t tell, I am excited.

To coincide with the release of Sex and the City 2, the Italian and Dutch editors of Cosmo asked a few locals for tips on what to do and where to go in NYC.

Here’s Italy:

And here’s Holland:

The places I recommended for out-of-towners looking to experience a slice of NYC: Pianos, Rudy’s Bar & Grill, and Katz’s Deli.

Above, you may also recognize my fellow blogger (and buddy) Alejandra of Always Order Dessert. She recommends Kashkaval, Flute, Fabulous Fanny’s, Century 21 and Ilili.

    Hey Cat!

Saw your comment so figured I'd chime in since I'm the one who contacted Jordan for this. I'm a NY editor for 16 of the international editions of Cosmo so occasionally my editors there ask me for help w/ NY (or US) stories. They wanted to do something for SATC 2 and asked me to give them some of my tips and to get some tips from other “real” NY girls. I'd been reading Jordan's blog for a while so I emailed her. It's actually how we first met!

A few of the other girls like Katy and Michelle were also bloggers I knew from reading their sites. The rest of the girls I found via the awesomeness that is HARO.

If you're interested in opportunities like this, I definitely recommend signing up for HARO. It's a service where reporters send out queries looking for sources for stories they're writing. Profnet is another similar service (though HARO is free; Profnet is fee-based). It's fantastic!
