Weekend Snapshots

Kendrick spent much of this weekend assembling things, but I was a lazy lady. What can I say: the second book of The Hunger Games has gotten me, and it will not let go. So most of the things that were photo-worthy in my world for the past two days were food-related (not a bad thing).

I made 5-Minute Chocolate-Banana Cream pie

Scored a surprise breakfast in bed (!)…

Went to Gina La Fornarina for dinner (it’s not just the brunch pizza that’s amazing)…

(Look at thattttt)

And had a Funfetti Attack.

Isn’t The Hunger Games AMAZING?  I’m waiting for the third book to come in the mail (I hate hard cover books so I ordered it from a UK publisher on ebay).

We just walked past Gina la Fornarina on Saturday night and contemplated going in for dinner, but ended up going to Josie’s instead. Oh but I have to tell you that based on your recommendation, I finally went to Casellula with a friend last Wednesday and it was AMAZING! I actually bought some orange blossom honey this weekend so I can recreate that ridiculously delicious ricotta crostini situation at home…I just need to get some hazelnuts now. And then I raved about it so much to Eugene that I ended up going back with him on Friday for dinner. What a great place!

(I’m also a little bit in love with their chocolate cake.)

i’m so glad you liked it! definitely one of my all-time favorite places in the city.
we’d never been to gina’s for dinner before – only brunch – but will be going back, for sure. the service wasn’t fantastic, but it’s really pretty and rustic inside, and open to the street, so a little wait is no big deal. and the pizzas are phenomenal.
