Quantcast

Family Circle Cup / Day 2 (Post-10AM)

For the last segment, we interviewed some of the tournament’s attendees about the activities taking place over the course of the week.

I don’t love that top I’m wearing here – it’s Forever21, and I bought it a few summers ago for my third date with Kendrick, but when I look at it now it just seems sort of…juvenile? I don’t want to get rid of it, memories and all…so do you have any suggestions for how I can update it a little? I’m thinking about cutting the ruffles off the sleeves and cutting a slit up the front so I can tie it up at the waist and wear it with jean shorts, ’50s-style.

Speaking of style, I’m just in awe of Southern women: I can’t imagine what I would look like in multicolored Bermuda shorts, sweater sets, and flouncy hats (not to mention all the pink!), but these women pull it off beautifully. One thing I can’t get on board with: I saw an abundance of Vera Bradley bags, and mark my words…even if I end up a resident of the South, you will never catch one of those things on my shoulder.

After a delicious good-bye meal of fried green tomatoes with spicy sauce and fish & chips at Queen Anne’s Revenge, Tara and Mike dropped me off at the airport. See that face? That is not the face of a person who is very happy to be leaving Charleston. I’ll be back.

If it were me, I would totally cut the shirt a bit and turn it into a cool apron! It has a fun pattern and great colors. The shape of it would also work easily as an apron and you can sew the ruffly sleeve on as a little pocket!

can we get a better picture? i don't see sleeve ruffles. i think that's a good idea though, wear it with jean shorts, or super short jean shorts as a super short dress with insurance (ah, yea I do that all the time)

don't have a better picture, unfortunately, but it sort of has little ruffly winglets on the sleeves – i usually tuck them under, because it's just too much girly for me. shorts as insurance = excellent idea, especially when you dress like me ;)
